Another dreary Emonton day

Good morning everyone!
It is still frightfully cold here, and we are wondering where our Summer has been hiding. Oh well, Mother Nature will do what she wants, right?

I have been busily creating cards, paper sculptures and teaching.

Here are some of the projects I worked on -

I love the way this one turned out. To get the water effect I filled a baggy with hair gel (the cheapest I could find) - I tinted it by dipping a marker into the bag and then smooshing it around which also created bubbles. I sealed the baggy and then attached it to the back of the aperture and added the stamped and coloured image of the mermaid behind that. This is one of my favorite "get whale" cards.

I had a wonderful visit from two lovely sisters from British Columbia who wanted to learn some parching. Now, for those of you who aren't very familiar with parchment craft, it is not a craft that can be taught in an afternoon, but I did my best to teach them the basics.
Here is a pic of Ruth and Dorothy proudly displaying their finished projects.

I have also been busily visiting other blogs, the best way to learn new things in my opinion. I came across this great contest that I want to share with all of you. Go to this site and hope for the best - good luck to all who enter. http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com/

Have fun everyone, will be in touch soon.
